New Links Training Solutions are delighted to confirm that our next Train the Trainer programme will start on Wednesday Jan 30th.
Train the Trainer will provide you with the tools and skills to enable you to deliver a professional training programme. The course is designed to equip professionals with the skills, knowledge and attitude that are needed so you will become a first class trainer. This qualification is fully recognised through FETAC and is essential to anyone who wishes to enter in to training with in their current role or wishes to work for a State agency such as FÁS. Learners will gain a valuable understanding of the distinction between teaching, training and facilitation and gain confidence to ensure each training programme you create has a set of clear and achievable objectives with professional delivery.
Completed for one day each week over a 6 week period, the following are areas covered during time on this programme.
Week 1 – Adult Learning Theory.
This module will help you understand the theory behind adult learning and how an adult will approach their new learning. Sharing and learning best practice and understanding the various learning techniques which are available to you.
Week 2 – The Role of the Trainer
Looking in to the theory of group development and values that inform training practice, you will become more confident in your teaching methods and how they will impact each person within your training group. During this module you will learn more and understand your role as a trainer.
Each training programme that you will facilitate will have specific learning and performance objectives. This module will teach you the relevant skill set to perform your training so that you meet the identified needs of learners.
Week 4 – Developing Training Content
Deciding how best to teach a training programme can be a daunting task, this module will help you determine what methods, materials, visual aids are best to have in your tool kit for a given training programme. This module will help you understand how to set objectives that you can reach with your audience and also obtain.
Week 5 – Evaluating Training
Each trainer needs to have a skill set that will allow them to evaluate the training of their learners but also of themselves. This module will help you understand the importance of feedback and evaluating training for the growth of you as trainer and the growth of your learners.
Week 6 – Practical Assessment / Review / Evaluation
During this module we will focus on reviewing all the tools that you as trainer now have in your tool kit in order to deliver a professional training programme. We will explore the progression routes for trainers and evaluate your progress during this module in against the learning objectives.
Upon completion of this course you will receive a FETAC recognised qualification. Those who obtain this qualification are issued with a fully accredited certification which is internationally recognised. By completing this course you are providing yourself with the necessary tools to move to the next level within your career plan. This course gives you the tools and skills which will allow you to teach subjects which you are passionate and knowledgeable about to others. People who have completed this course have continued on as Adult Education Tutors in various companies or through to self employment.
