Janet Tumulty – Head of Training & Quality Assurance Director
Janet leads the training team here at New Links Training Solutions and is passionate about quality assurance and the development of quality training solutions for our clients. Janet is responsible for setting up all the internal Quality Assurance and learning management systems and her work and the standards within the business have been commended by Quality & Qualifications Ireland (QQI) a National Certification Authority. Janet has been instrumental in assisting a number of companies to create their Training Department functions ‘from the ground up’ including the development of policies & procedures, quality assurance, online training, content development, administration, assessment, and evaluation. Janet directs the implementation of learning and development strategies and has a keen eye for identifying gaps and devising workable solutions. She has been instrumental in designing and introducing successful team building, diversity, leadership, communications, and performance management programmes to organizations, groups, and individual clients one to one. Janet holds professional qualifications in EQI Assessment, Social Studies, Coaching, Facilitation, RPL Mentoring and Training & Development. Janet is an avid crafter with a love for all things creative, but she loves papercraft and projects that require precision. At the weekends you are likely to meet her on the Waterford greenway as she has recently resumed her interest in cycling and hasn’t missed a weekend cycle since the Greenway opened in March of 2017. Janet is a voluntary Board Member of the Solas Cancer Support Centre, Waterford and regularly supports fundraising events and local activities.

Jim Tumulty – Business Director
Jim’s professional experience, project management and strategy development have supported the growth of New Links Training from a sole proprietorship to its current status as a successful company employing 3 full-time staff and up to 10 associate trainers. Jim’s expertise in the field of IT has driven the development of our blended learning, CRM and LMS systems ensuring efficient and effective management and evaluation of the clients training experience. Jim ensures that our clients receive a professional, personalised service from the introductory phone call or email through to service delivery. Jim project manages our contracted projects including the Momentum programme (2012 – 2017) which catered for several hundred learners in multiple centres across the South East. Jim engages with clients, trainees and employers to ensure that optimum benefit and progression opportunities are achieved through work-based training projects. In the retail industry, Jim was a frontrunner in the implementation of retail IT systems in the late ’90s and the introduction of new systems and processes to more than 600 retailers nationally in Musgrave group. Jim introduced enhanced reporting and process improvements in the Caulfield Group. Jim has held the roles of commercial manager, business analyst, project manager and group IT manager for Musgrave Group and Caulfield’s Supervalu. Jim’s professional qualifications include Commercial Computing, Diploma in telecommunications management, Kepner Tregoe project management & decision making, recruitment, mediation, conflict management, time management. In his spare time, Jim enjoys a good round of golf and is a member of Waterford Castle Golf club.

Kieran Tumulty – Governance, Contracting
Kieran is a graduate of Law and English from University College Cork. He also holds a QQI level 6 certificate in Training and Development. Kieran’s talent for accuracy in developing policies and procedures has helped the business to grow and develop as the landscape of training at National level continues to change. Kieran worked on the migration of former FETAC awards to the new QQI common awards system (CAS). Kieran, an experienced recruitment business owner, currently acts as an external advisor to the business in the areas of governance, content development and contracting. In his spare time, Kieran is an outdoor enthusiast and has competed in a number of marathons and triathlons.
Martina Harte – Trainer
Martina Harte is an experienced teacher, trainer, manager, and therapist who is dedicated to the development of human potential. Her professional experience over thirty years spans second level, community education, and higher education contexts. As a Head of Department in Waterford Institute of Technology (WIT), she managed a team of professionals and educational specialists across a range of quality student services and innovative projects. Her membership of WIT Academic Council equipped her with expertise in areas of curriculum development and in quality assurance policy and practice. Teacher of professional development is another keen area of interest for Martina. She tutored on a Masters degree in Learning and Teaching. Martina is also a qualified yoga and meditation teacher, who has been teaching philosophy on a professionally accredited yoga teacher training programme in Waterford. Her approach to optimum health and wellbeing is underpinned by cutting-edge developments in neuroscience. Martina’s approach to training and education is deeply reflective and developmental. Martina holds a range of professional qualifications in diverse fields including two Masters degrees, one in Learning and Teaching and a second in Guidance and Counselling, Martina is also a trained EQI Assessor.
Jacintha Cloney – Trainer
With over 20 years experience in the hospitality and health and fitness industry, Jacintha delivers first-class, expert-driven training to our clients. Educated to a Masters level Jacintha’s experience spans community, residential and further education settings where she has worked with diverse and challenging groups. She is an approachable, patient and responsible full-time tutor, with experience teaching students of various academic levels mixed, learning abilities and challenging environments. Jacintha’s greatest strength as a tutor is her ability to connect with and adapt to the pace of the learner. Jacintha enjoys challenging trainees to understand their learning styles, their motivation, and barriers to success. She consistently achieves positive results with learners and this is evident in retention rates and engagement of learners. As a result of her diverse career and educational experience, Jacintha has enormous potential for flexibility and adaptability both in developing trainees and delivering new and bespoke projects. Outside of work, Jacintha likes to keep fit mentally and physically and she enjoys swimming, gardening, and mindful meditation.
Sheena Hutchinson – Trainer
An experienced, adaptable and highly motivated trainer with a range of professional experiences across many sectors. Sheena has worked extensively in recent years in community-based initiatives and has led projects delivered training, mentoring and activation to a diverse range of clients. Sheena uses her vast experience with each group she works with to ensure the best outcomes. Stives to ensure both client and customers’ needs are met, actioned and addressed, as necessary.
Outside of work Sheena is involved in a program that encourages Young people with difficulties to develop coping methods and strategies though challenging activities, while having fun. Working to complete Ireland highest peak challenge.
John Harte – Quality Assurance Co-Ordinator
John is Graduate of Law & Economics from Limerick University. John oversees the daily monitoring of all our FET QA processes. With a keen eye for detail John monitors, evaluates and updates our internal systems on a daily basis. He also takes care of customer queries and ensures that every aspect of the learner journey is underpinned by the quality standards set down by QQI. John is keenly aware that a QA system is a living, breathing and continuously improving part of our business and he prides himself on the ability to monitor, control, measure and record our QA processes ensuring that we maintain a high level of compliance. John is keenly focused on delivering excellent customer service and we know that our learners are supported at every touchpoint – this is important now more than ever with the majority of our customer interactions occurring online or in a virtual setting. Course participants will have the pleasure of meeting John from time to time as he carries out monitoring and quality checks in our Virtual online classroom. In his spare time John enjoys rugby, water sports and is a former maths champion.
